Steps taken by Hitler to bring about Economic recovery in Germany:

a Hitler assigned the policy of economic reconstruction to Hjalmar Schacht, who pursued two pronged strategy i.e full production and Full employment through state sponsored programmes.

b. The economic reforms aimed at full employment by:

  • Expansion of bureaucracy
  • Setting up of arms factories.
  • Manufacture of naval ships,airplanes
  • Construction of roads, offices, houses, government buildings.
  • Compulsory military training

c. The prices of all essential commodities were regulated.

d. Good working conditions were provided to the workers.

e. Hitler followed an aggressive foreign policy which aimed at expanding Germany's influence by occupying various territories and control over their resources, which indeed became part of his economic planning.

Two things that symbolized Germany's recovery were:

a. Construction of Germany's highways and people's car Volkswagon

b. Occupation of territories that enabled Germany to amass resources.
