The pastoral community was affected by the changes in the modern world in a variety of ways. New laws made by the governments and enactment of new geographical borders affect the patterns of their movement. Moreover there were also increasing restrictions in their movement and grazing of their cattle in the pastures which affected their livelihood as well. But many of the pastoralists have now adapted to the changes in the modern world. They have changed their paths of movement, reduced their number of cattle, exerted pressure on the governments for relief and subsidy and have also demanded rights in the management of forest resources.
