Relocation of industry to low wage countries stimulated world trade and capital flows due to the following reasons
(i) In the last two decades, the world economic geography has been transformed as countries like China, India and Brazil have undergone rapid economic transformations.
(ii) Wages were relatively low in these countries. Thus, these became attractive destination for investment by foreign MNCs competing to capture world markets. The low cost structure of economy of China and low wages specialty attracted them.
(iii) With failure of Soviet style communism and collapse of Soviet Union, many Eastern European countries were also integrated in the world economy.

The different modes of advertisement in 19th century India were as follows (i) The Manchester made cloth carried a label with 'Made in Manchester' written In bold. This assured the buyers about the quality of the cloth.
(ii) The British manufacturers used images of Indian Gods and Goddesses on the labels. It symbolized the divine approval for the commodity. It also created familiarity with the Indian buyers.
(iii) Manufacturers got calendars printed with the Images of Gods and the advertisement of their product. The calendars were seen on the walls of hotels, tea shops, households etc.
(iv) Images of historical characters and heroes from the past were also displayed on calendars thus, sending the message that the product was as worthy of respect as were these respectable characters.
(v) The Indian manufacturers printed the image of Bharat Mate and a nationalist message on the labels. They also printed 'Made in India' on the labels thus, appealing to the nationalist sentiments. Most of the baby products carried the image of Lord Krishna to appeal to the religious sentiments.

In the 18th century. the family had been a unit of production and consumption as well as of political decision-making. The function and the shape of the family were completely transformed by life in the industrial city.
(i) Ties between members of household loosened, and among the working class, the institution of marriage tended to break down.
(ii) Women of the upper and middle classes in Britain faced increasingly higher levels of isolation, although their lives were made easier by domestic maids who cooked, cleaned and cared for young children on low wages.
(iii) The family became the heart of a new market, of goods and services, and of ideas.
However, many social reformers felt that family as an institution had broken down and needed to be saved by pushing these women back into the home.
