It is believed that there were major changes in the climatic conditions of the Earth around 12,000 years ago.
Climate changes brought about changes in the flora (plant life) and fauna (animal life) of the different regions. Grass-eating and meat-eating animals increased in the plains. Thus, man learnt to tame and domesticate animals for his use. These animals, in turn, provided many things to humans - milk, food and even animal hides that humans used to make their clothes out of.
Humans found naturally occurring crops of wheat and barley in the plains of India. Gradually he learnt to grow them extensively and store them for future use as well. And over time, they had perfected the art of sowing and reaping crops and could produce surplus crops.
Farming brought them together and encouraged them to live a settled community life. Thus, humans became social and developed languages to communicate.
