How did the east India company expand its rule over India

The East India company first established its control over the Carnatic by defeating the French East India company. It then conquered Bengal through its victories in the Battles of Plassey and Buxar. This was followed by victories against Mysore and Marathas. Through these victories, the East India Company had succeeded in spreading its control over almost all of India.
