The Indian Sepoys threaten the very existence of the Britishers in India by starting a rebellion against them. The mutiny started in the cantonment of Meerut but spread like a wild fire engulfing the entire North and Central India. Even the people belonging to different strands of life became a part of the rebellion. It was the biggest armed resistance which the British had to face in the nineteenth century. After this rebellion, many changes had to be made and the British Crown had to take the direct administration of India.
