Solution:
The Indian traders and craftsmen have played a very historic role in building upon the economic prosperity of ancient and medieval India. Indian craftsmen were experts in producing goods of fine quality. This was especially true in the case of producing textile goods such as woolen, silk, cotton clothes, which were famous across the world.
Indian craftsmen were also very famous for their skill with producing leather goods and articles. Not only leather, but our craftsmen were also experts at making metal articles which flourished during the medieval period.
Indian traders took these finished goods and helped sell them across all important markets of the world, thereby generating a healthy chain of goods and a market for their selling.
To keep their business and expertise organised, these craftsmen and traders organised themselves into guilds. These guilds helped them produce articles of high quality and kept the trade flowing smoothly.
In this way we can conclude that due to the expertise of traders and craftsmen Indian commercial towns prospered and so did the economy of the country.
