Ramananda was responsible for spreading Bhakti ideals in northern India.

Surdas was a blind poet and musician, who expressed his devotion for Krishna through his composition ‘Sursagar’.
Meerabai was a devotee of Lord Krishna and composed bhajans dedicated to him to express her devotion.
Chaintanyadeva popularised the worship of Krishna through songs and dances.
Tulsidas retold the story of Rama in his Ramcharitmanas.
