Solution:
  • Several revolts such as the Channar revolt, Tolviraku revolt at Cheemeni in Kasargod and Mechipullu Revolt led by Kandaikai Kunhakkamma of Kandakai village were initiated by women.
  • The main reformers who tried to bring gender equality were V.T. Bhattathirippad and M.R. Bhattathirippad, they supported the women of the Namboothiri community. They protested the inequalities and discrimination faced by the Namboothiri women. Plays such as Adukkalayil ninnu Arangathekku written by V.T. Bhattathirippad and Rithumati by Premji showed the tragic plight of the Namboothiri women.
  • Several activities were organised by Arya Pallam, Devaki Narikkattiri and Parvathy Nenmenimangalam to improve the plight of Namboothiri women.
  • Activities were also organised for a better wage, proper dress codes and against gender discrimination and occupational exploitation.
