a. Tribals represent a section of society who do not follow the social rules and rituals of the mainstream society .Many tribes obtain their livelihood from agriculture, they were hunter-gatherers or herders
b. Most of the tribals in the region practised shifting cultivation, while some were nomads.
c. Tribes wandered from place to place and had access to the entire forest cover.

d. They resided in the forest , close to nature.
e. Tribals usually occupied hill terrain and thick forest regions.
f. They had their own customs, traditions and languages and were cut off from the mainstream society.
g. Tribes had a communitarian way of living .
