Solution
Algae:
Algae include a wide group of eukaryotic unicellular photosynthetic organisms.
They are predominantly found in aquatic habitats.
Algal growth:
Algae thrive in the presence of water, sunlight, carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorous.
The algal plant body develops haploid gametes and they fuse to form a diploid zygote.
The diploid zygote then undergoes meiosis to form four meiospores that develop into haploid plants.
