Open in App
Solution

Auxins:

  1. These are the hormones that are produced by the tip of the shoot of a plant.
  2. Auxins help in increasing the length of the plants.

Effects of auxin hormone:

  1. Stimulation of shoot elongation.
  2. Formation of branches at the roots.
  3. Improves maturation of ovary and thus fruit production.

Effect of auxin on tendrils:

  1. When the tendrils start developing contact with a support, during that time auxin secretion increases and it increases the growth of cells in the opposite direction and thus the tendrils start coiling around the support.
