Question

How do convection currents in air help during ventilation?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Ventilation is the process in which impure air and warm air inside a room get replaced by fresh air from outside.
  2. Ventilators are fixed in rooms because, when people are breathing in a room the moisture content and carbon dioxide in the air will also increase.
  3. The moist warm air containing carbon dioxide is light and it rises up through ventilators.
  4. The rising up of warm air from the room causes a drop in pressure within the room.
  5. Because of the low pressure in the room, the cold and fresh air from doors and windows will flow inside.
  6. This is how convection helps in the air during ventilation.
