Question

How do draw an object position at infinity?

Open in App
Solution

Object at infinity:

  1. When an object is said to be placed at infinity, this means that the light rays traveling from this object are parallel.
  2. When these parallel rays hit a spherical mirror, they reflect from the surface of the mirror and travel through a point on the principal axis.
  3. This point of intersection on the principal axis is called the focus.
  4. The image formed at this point is inverted and highly diminished.
  5. The image is real if the parallel rays reflect from a concave mirror.
  6. The image is virtual if the parallel rays reflect from a convex mirror.
