Question

How do echoes in a normal room affect the quality of the sounds we hear?

Open in App
Solution

  1. The repetition of sound caused by the reflection of sound wave is called an echo.
  2. An echo is heard when sound is reflected from hard surfaces such as cliffs or tall brick walls.
  3. Echo can be heard if the minimum distance between the source of sound and the obstacle is nearly 17.2 m.

So, in a normal room echoes are not heard. So there is no effect of echoes on the quality of what we hear.
