Solution

Tropical rainforest:

  1. Tropical rainforests refer to the forest areas present in tropical lands around the equator.
  2. These forests contain broad trees and thus form a dense canopy.
  3. They contain a wide variety of vegetation and animal life.

Adaptation:

  1. Adaptations are special characteristics that animals develop to survive in the environment.
  2. Adaptations are of three types- structural, physiological, and behavioral.

Elephants in tropical rainforest:

  1. There is severe competition for survival in tropical rainforests because of the high animal population.
  2. The elephant's tusks are modified teeth that help them tear the tree's bark for food.
  3. Their large ears help them pick up even soft sounds to be beware of danger.
  4. The large size of the ear also helps them stay cool in the humid climate of the rainforests.
