The disorders caused due to the alteration in the genetic sequence of a normal gene are known as genetic disorders.
They can be found in the whole genome or a part of it.
They are a result of mutations (changes in the DNA sequence) of a specific single gene or multiple genes.
They can be also caused by environmental factors along with many gene mutations.
Genetic disorders can be also caused due to chromosome aberrations.
Deletion in chromosomes, the addition of new chromosomes, damage, and change in the structure of chromosomes during cell division can also lead to genetic disorders.
Hence, the above-mentioned causes are the most common reasons for genetic disorders.
Examples of genetic disorders are Phenylketonuria, Sickle cell anemia, etc.
