Question

How do I apply kirchhoff's laws when there is no battery connected across the points between which we want to find the equivalent resistance or problems like that what approach should I take?

Solution

If there is no battery connected across the circuit then there is no need to apply kirchoffs law to get equivalent resistance. Directly apply the formula by taking series and parallel resistances seperately and it would be easy to solve the problem. If there is no EMF source in the cicuit actually the problem is a lot easier.
