Bowel infection: This is a condition in which the colon muscle contracts more often than in normal people. It causes bloating, abdominal pains and cramps, diarrhea, etc.

If you experience the following symptoms, you may have a bowel infection:

1. Blood or mucus in the stools.
2. Fever.
3. Diarrhea that lasts longer than 2 days.
4. Signs of dehydration.
