Vascular disease affects the blood vessels that transport oxygen and nutrients throughout the body as well as remove waste from the tissues.
Plaque (made of fat and cholesterol) slows or blocks blood flow inside your arteries or veins, causing common vascular problems.
Symptoms of vascular disease:
Leg pain or cramps that worsen with activity but improve with rest; changes in skin color; sores or ulcers; and tired legs are all symptoms of peripheral artery disease.
Carotid artery disease: There are usually no symptoms until a stroke or transient ischemic attack occurs (TIA or mini-stroke). Symptoms include difficulty seeing or speaking, confusion, and memory problems.
Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism are both blood clotting disorders.
Neck pain, vision changes, high blood pressure, dizziness, hearing a "whooshing sensation," or hearing your heartbeat in your ears are all symptoms of fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD).
Symptoms of lymphedema- Swelling, most commonly in the arms or legs.
