Question

How do ions form electrically neutral compounds?

Open in App
Solution

Electrically neutral compounds mean compounds with no net charge on them or 0 charge on them.
Ions form electrically neutral compounds by balancing the charge on the individual ions.

A cation combines with an anion to form a neutral compound. For example - Na+ combines with Cl to form NaCl. Ca2+ combines with CO23 to form CaCO3, and various other such examples are there.
