How do leaves of plants help in excretion?

Leaves of plants help in excreting waste materials in many ways. The major wastes excreted by leaves are-

1. Water- The excess water absorbed by the plants is lost by evaporation from the surface of leaves. This loss of water is called transpiration.
2. Oxygen- Oxygen is also a waste produced by plants during photosynthesis which is excreted by stomata of leaves.
3. Carbon dioxide- It is the waste produced during respiration which is also excreted by stomata of leaves.
