The migrant workers come to big cities from rural areas in the search of employment. Following are the problems that they face in the cities:
1.The opportunities in the cities are limited; most of the migrant workers end up working for low wages at construction sites or as domestic servants.
2.They have no job security and have to work in unsafe working conditions.They are not given any compensation if they get injured.
3.They are sometimes subjected to verbal or sexual abuse, especially the women workers.
4.They have temporary settlements or live in slums as they are unable to afford a house.
5.They do not have access to clean drinking water and proper health care.
