Question

How do multiple alleles occur?

Open in App
Solution

Occurrence of multiple alleles:

  1. In diploid cells, each cell has the ability to produce two alleles at the same time.
  2. Alleles forms of a gene that arise by mutation and are found at the same place on a chromosome.
  3. Based on alleles, organisms can be either heterozygous (having different alleles) or homologous (having the same allele).
  4. Multiple allelism may be found most effective while population research is carried out.
  5. Multiple alleles are located on homologous chromosomes on the equal locus.
  6. When there are, three or more kinds of genes located on the same locus in a chromosome, they are called multiple alleles.
  7. They impact one or the equal individual, however, bring about the formation of numerous traits.
  8. When any of more than one alleles is crossed, the phenotype is a mutant kind and now no longer the wild kind.
