Nitric oxide present in the stratosphere reacts with ozone to form nitrogen dioxide which in tum reacts with atomic oxygen to produce nitric oxide again.
$N O n i t r i c o x i d e + O_{3} o z o n e \to N O_{2} n i t r o g e n d i o x i d e + O_{2} o x y g e n$
$N O_{2} + O \to N O + O_{2}$
