Question

how do plants breathe during night if the stomata is closed at night?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student
The process of respiration in plants in which they take in Oxygen and give out Carbon dioxide takes place at night as well as in daytime. In daytime , the process of photosynthesis also takes place and hence the stomata are open and plant takes in oxygen from stomata. But during night as the process of photosynthesis stops , the stomata also closes to conserve water. During this time plants take in oxygen or breathe through their lenticels.
