Plants:

  1. Plants are living organisms that grow in a fixed location, collecting water and inorganic materials through their roots.
  2. They produce nutrients in their leaves through photosynthesis with the green pigment called chlorophyll.

Nutrients:

  1. Nutrients are chemical substances found in food that the body requires to function correctly and stay healthy.
  2. They are compounds that the body needs for energy, construction materials, and process regulation.
  3. Carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, water, vitamins, and minerals are the six major types of nutrients based on biochemical features.

Plant's nutrients:

  1. Air, water, and soil are all sources of nutrients for plants.
  2. There are sixteen nutrients that are required for plant growth.
  3. Air provides carbon and oxygen, whereas water provides hydrogen.
  4. The remaining thirteen nutrients, commonly known as mineral nutrients, are obtained from the soil.
  5. The soil provides mineral nutrients. The roots of the plants absorb these nutrients when they take in water.
  6. Macronutrients and micronutrients are two types of mineral nutrients.
  7. Plants require macronutrients in huge proportions, whereas micronutrients are required at very minute levels.
