Spermiogenesis:

  1. The process of turning spermatids into spermatozoa is known as spermiogenesis.
  2. Spermatids mature into mature, mobile, or motile spermatozoa during the final stage of spermatogenesis.

Spermiation:

Before moving on to the epididymis during spermiation, mature spermatids are released from Sertoli cells into the lumen of the seminiferous tubule.
