Question

How do water and minerals present in the soil get absorbed?

Open in App
Solution

1. Water and minerals present in the soil get absorbed through the roots.

2. Roots are the plant structures through which plants absorb their much-required minerals and water. Root hair found on roots causes an increase in the surface area of roots. This leads to the absorption of minerals and water that are dissolved in the absorbed water. In plants, the vascular tissue xylem is responsible for the conduction of nutrients and water.
