Question

how do water temperature and surface area affect evaporation

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student, Higher the temperature, more kinetic energy will be acquired by the particles which results in rapid escape of particles in the form of vapour. Evaporation is faster in the noon as more sun energy is present in the noon. Surface area- When surface area increases more particles will be exposed to the heat resulting in increase rate of evaporation.Clothes spread out for drying after washing, dried up faster due to increase in evaporation.
