Question

How do you Calculate Enthalpy of Hydrogenation ?

Open in App
Solution

The enthalpy of hydrogenation is explained in following points:

  • The change in enthalpy (‘H’) that happens during catalytic hydrogenation.
  • It's the heat/enthalpy of reaction for a hydrogenation reaction.
  • It can be determine this from the standard enthalpies formation where R is reactants, P is products, n is the stoichiometric coefficient, H is enthalpy, and ∘ labels the enthalpy as the "standard" enthalpy ( T=25°C and P=1 atm ).

The above points clearly explain the enthalpy of hydrogenation.
