How do you define least Count for Vernier Callipers?

The vernier calipers has two scale - one is main scale and other is vernier scale. The least count of vernier scale is defined as L.C=1MSD1VSD where MSD= main scale divisions and VSD= vernier scale divisions.
If n divisions on vernier scale coincide with (n-1) divisions on main scale, the least count, L.C=(1n1n)MSD . The least count of the veriner calipers is also known as vernier constant.
