Race

Populations of individuals which are genetically distinct within the same species. For example: the different races of humans differ in skin colour, eye structure etc.

Breed

Animals having similar phenotype, behavior, and other characteristics which distinguish them from other animals of the same species.

Cultivars

Plants that are bred for desired traits using vegetative propagation. Example- apples and bananas have many cultivars.

Variety

A taxonomic category below species. Similar to race but used for plants
