Question

How do you find the resistance in Ohms Law?

Open in App
Solution

Ohms Law:

It states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points.

The formula of Ohms Law:

Ohm expressed his discovery in the form of a simple equation, describing how voltage, current, and resistance interrelate:

V=IR

  1. In this algebraic expression, voltage(V) is equal to current(I) multiplied by resistance(R).
  2. Using algebraic techniques, we can manipulate this equation in resistance form so we can solve for resistance(R).

R=VI

The SI unit of resistance is Ohms.
