A colonoscopy is a test that looks for changes in the large intestine (colon) and rectum, such as swollen, irritated tissues, polyps, or cancer.

Way to know if the colon is empty or not:

1. After you've finished your bowel prep agent, your stool can serve as a guide.
2. The color of your stool should be clear, yellow, light, and liquid. If you have dark particles or thick brown or black stool, you are not ready for a colonoscopy.
