How do you neutralize potassium dichromate?

In order to neutralize potassium dichromate(K2Cr2O7), it can be treated with sodium metabisulfite(Na2S2O5).

Alternately this compound can also be treated with sodium bisulfite(NaHSO3) in order to neutralize it.
