Question

How do you remove oxidation from aluminium?

Open in App
Solution

  1. If a large aluminium surface is being washed, soak a cloth in vinegar and scrub it through the oxidation process.
  2. In addition to cleaning aluminium surfaces, a quick solution of vinegar and water will polish the aluminium to preserve its original shine as well.
  3. Mix equal portions of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle.
  4. Spray the surface directly and wash it away with a soft rag.
  5. By boiling a solution of two to three tablespoons of tartar cream, lemon juice or vinegar into each quart of water in the utensil for 5 to 10 minutes, the discolouration that occurs on aluminium utensils can be eliminated.
  6. Next, scour gently using a scouring pad filled with soap.
