Solution

Tests for blood clotting disorders:

  1. Different coagulation tests are done to determine blood clots.
  2. Prothrombin time(PT)- It measures how quickly blood clots.10-13 seconds is the general reference range.
  3. Partial thromboplastin time(PTT)- This also measures the clotting speed.
  4. This test helps in detecting bleeding disorders.
  5. International normalized ratio(INR)- It is a calculation derived from the PT test.
  6. The general value should be around 2-3.
  7. Detecting higher INR values cause an increased risk of clotting.
  8. Some other tests are:
  • Complete blood count(CBC)
  • Fibrinogen level
