Question

How does a bisexual flowering plant ensures cross pollination? Explain?

Open in App
Solution

A bisexual flower has both androecium and gynoecium because of this self-pollination occurs most of the time but sometimes due to insect pollinators and wind, cross-pollination may occur. Artificial techniques for cross-pollination in such flowers can be used to ensure cross. One such method is emasculation (removal of anthers from the flower).
