One such device that is frequently used on board and has numerous applications is a permanent magnet moving coil (PMMC). Galvanometer and D'alvanometer are two more names for this instrument that are frequently used.

DC Voltmeter:

A measuring tool called a $DC$ voltmeter is used to determine the $DC$ voltage between any two locations on an electric circuit. The Permanent Magnet Moving Coil $\left(PMMC\right)$ galvanometer can function as a $DC$ voltmeter if a resistor is connected in series with it.

Note: $DC$ voltmeter is used in the measurement of $DC$ voltage across any two points. $DC$ voltmeter measures the peak value of the $DC$ voltage. The $DC$ voltmeter comprises an attenuator, and an amplifier followed by a $PMMC$ meter.
