Solution

Archimedes' Principle:- Buoyant force acting on an object immersed in a fluid is exactly equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it, which is the statement of Archimedes' principle.

  1. A submarine may float or sink in water as desired.
  2. For this purpose large ballast tank is provided at the base of a submarine.
  3. Gate of ballast tanks is opened so that seawater fills the ballast tanks so as to increase its weight.
  4. As a result, the submarine sinks.
