How does AC differ from DC? What are the advantages and disadvantages of AC over DC?

The polarity $AC$ changes with respect to time but in case of $DC$ Polarity doesn't changes

Advantages of $AC:$

$\left(i\right)$ Easy to generate.

$\left(ii\right)$ It can be step up or step down using transformer.

$\left(iii\right)$ Easy to convert into $DC$.

$\left(iv\right)$ $AC$ generator is more efficient.

Disadvantages of $AC$ over $DC:$

$\left(i\right)$ Losses in $AC$ is more than $DC$.

$\left(ii\right)$ Peak value of $AC$ is high and it is dangerous to use, so better insulation is required.

$\left(iii\right)$ It attracts person who touches it unlike $DC$.
