Question

How does air is purified when it enters through the nasal passage?

Open in App
Solution

Inhaled air entering into the nasal passage will carry dust, particles, bacteria, virus and other pathogens. Nasal passage is lined by cilia(hair) and mucus. Cilia(hair) filters the dust particles. Other pathogens such as bacteria are entrapped by the mucus. Hence, air is purified before entering into the lungs.
