How does atomic atomic radius change as we move along the period?

Solution
Trend in atomic radius:
The atomic radius of an element is a measure of the size of its atom, and the distance from the center of the nucleus to the outermost isolated electron.
Atomic radius generally decreases from left to right along a period because the electrons are added to the same shell due to this there is an increase in nuclear charge.
Hence, the increase in nuclear charge leads to an increase in the intermolecular force of attraction from the nucleus which decreases the size of an atom.
