Question

How does childbirth take place?

Open in App
Solution

  • Once the baby is fully developed, firstly the baby gets positioned in a way that the head faces towards the cervix and the legs face on the other side.
  • The muscles of the uterus start to contract and push the baby.
  • The head of the baby nudges against the cervix and this opens the cervix and the vagina.
  • Due to the elasticity of the muscles of the cervix and vagina, they expand and make way for the baby to be delivered out from the mothers body and is brought to the world.
  • This entire process of giving birth to a newborn baby is called childbirth.
