Consumer exploitation refers to the act of taking advantage of buyers. Consumers are being exploited in the following manner: Sale of adulterated goods, i.e. adding something inferior to the product being sold. Misleading advertisements, i.e. advertisements falsely claiming a product or service to be of superior quality, grade or standard. This occurs because of limited information about the product, such as guarantees and terms of purchase.
consumer exploitation leads to consumer dissonance . Dissonance in marketing causes a conflict or tension within a consumer considering a product purchase. This is usually an uncomfortable feeling for the consumer and usually leads to the buyer taking her money elsewhere or experiencing remorse over the purchase.
