Controlling involves taking corrective actions whenever required. In an organisation, first, the manager plans in advance, what is to be done, then through controlling, he measures the progress and keeps checking that everything is in accordance with a plan or not and if there is any deviation, he then takes preventive measures to correct that deviation.

In this way, it facilitates decision-making.
E.g.: Suppose in XYZ Ltd., production is delayed due to lack of resources, then through the controlling function, the manager takes a decision to provide sources on time.
