a. Under the Consumer Protection Act 1986, a three tier judicial system has been formed
b. This act provides establishment of consumer disputes redressal agencies at district, state and national level.
c. Consumers can invoke their right to redressal and right to represent. This right allows consumer to file a complaint against the manufacturers if he /she feels exploited and can seek claim.
d. Thus, accordingly a consumer can seek a claim of 20 lakhs in district court
e. State level courts deals with claim amount of between Rs 20 lakhs and Rs 1crore and natioanl level courts daesl with amount exceeding Rs 1 crore.
f. COPRA also provides for an opprtubity to appeal, if the case is dismissed at the district level then a consumer can appeal in the stste and national courts
