Dear student,
Forest is the habitat for millions of species, therefore deforestation can bring unfavourable situations to millions of species of plants and animals. Deforestation results in soil erosion which dries up moisture in the soil which is the habitat for microorganism which breaks up organic matter in the soil. Rain water washes away the nutrient in the soil. Deforestation affects the water table because plants hold the soil tightly and allow water to seep in the soil and form water table. Most of the water in the water cycle runs through trees. So, there will be imbalance in water cycle and less water will be available. More than 80% of the worlds species lives in the tropical tropical rain forest. So, most of the species are lost due to deforestation.
