Question

how does density of a liquid affect the pressure at a point in liquid

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

More density means more mass per unit volume

ρ=mVHere ρ is density, m is mass and V is volume.

Meaning there is more weight of fluid on top of the point you measuring pressure. More weight means more force per unit area as pressure P=FA=mgA=VρgA

Increasing density will increase pressure.
